Brooke St. James writes safe and refreshing stories. I read a ton of romance books from tons of different authors and one common denominator with more than half are the constant curse words and the too many sex scenes. With Brookes books you don't really get any of either. It's refreshing and the focal point is more on the story itself and not making porn. James books are low in angst, some even have no angst at all. If it's written well then that can be a good thing but personally I think it gets a little boring. I need a little angst in some way to give the book a little depth. I mean the heroine doesn't need to be kidnapped or anything so drastic (but I do love when that happens and she is rescued by her man #love) but some angst in some way goes a long way. That's the only reason I rated this book a 4 and not a 5. The characters were really great. I loved the plot and the attention to detail in regards to all the fish was on point. But, I did get bored about 60% in. I will be reading more Brooke books. I love her books and can't wait to see what she gives us next.
This was definitely another winner! Loved Ash and Abigail and how their relationship grew. Brooke's books are always an instant click for me, I don't even have to read the blurb of what its about. I appreciate that she writes clean books and would recommend them highly. I've read everything she's written and can't wait for the next!!
This was a fast,sweet romance. I liked it that Abigail and Ash were attracted to each other right away. Abigail didn't recognize Ash to be the famous musician he was, and he loved it. She thought he was a moving guy and told him at first she didn't like classical music. I enjoyed learning about the life of a professional musician and pond cleaner, but most of all I enjoyed their sweet romance.
As with all of Brookes storys, I can't wait for the next one. I love hearing the scriptures quotes and this didn't let me down. Another good one brooke
Loved book One. I read book three first and while it was good I was a bit nervous about reading this book. While there are some goofy moments in this story it is at minimum. Abigail and Ash have such a sweet love story. There is no drama and just a wonderful summer day read.Abigail and Ash meet over fish. Interesting job for Abigail. Ash is talented. Friendship starts over misunderstanding. It grows rapidly but they were smart enough to slow things down and went about their relationship maturely.A great clean Christian read. Abigail is a strong Christian woman who challenges Ash. Interesting way to propose. Hope that is a teaser instead of to much info. But hey we all know it's romance. Buy and enjoy.
What a great book! The main characters' backgrounds are refreshingly original. So many romances are formulaic or copycats of other books out there. Additionally, the chemistry between Ash and Abigail is so strong it's practically tangible. This book is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Read it!
I could not love this book more than I did! Abby and Ash are adorable and it was one of the sweetest stories I've read in a long time. I was cheering for them from Chapter 3 and absolutely loved how head over heels they were for each other. It's a light-hearted, tender story of deep love that will keep you flipping pages as fast as your eyes can read the words.
I enjoyed this story. I often kind of felt like the portrayal of the story was a bit more dramatic than it needed to be. I really liked the characters and look forward to reading more books in this series. There were some missing words, which was distracting.Content: clean - passionate kissing
