I just received my copy, and although I am NOT disappointed, I bought it with the thought that I was going to be getting a children's Bible. Again I am not disappointed, because I had bought 2 children Bibles already for my kids, but I wanted one with a more simpler explanation of what they were reading. Come to find out that this book does exactly that and in terms that all of us can comprehend and continue to talk about in terms of life today. I truly recommend this book for bible study, and for those that are for the first time born again Christians.
Really well done. I bought this as gift and skimmed it. It really gives a great overview and really understandable. If a parent really wants their child to have a head start in understanding the Bible and what the contents of each chapter are, this is a great Bible. It's not just the stories but the concepts and diagrams. I kinda wanted to keep it myself even thought I've read the Bible a few times. (: I had trouble deciding between the "Action Bible" and this one. I settled on this one because the Action Bible is basically a comic book. It would be very entertaining but I'm not sure the concepts would be grasped or if the child would just be entertained. My only criticism is that this book is really for the parent more than the child since it isn't colorful enough to catch the child's attention. If the images and diagrams were more colorful, a parent could sit side by side with a child and really get into it. Maybe I'm wrong since my kid is now almost 30. I don't think you can go wrong with this Bible for young children if you are involved in teaching them the Bible. If you are just turning a young child lose with a bible, you might consider the Action Bible (the one that is more like a comic book).
I have to give credit on this book. My son attends a Christian school but needed to continue his Bible study during the summer. So I presented him with this book and asked him to read from it daily. I didn’t specify how much. He has been reading five pages a day on his own accord. So, the book is apparently holding his interest. He often reads aloud to me and seems to be enjoying it.
My 7yr old loves it. He sees his older siblings read their bible and runs and gets his. He sits there and enjoys reading the stories. I feel its more age appropriate than the regular bible. It has wonderful illustrations and explains things easier for him to understand.
My son loved it! And even my ex husband asked to have it since my son is always talking about how easy is to read this bible!!!
This bible is very good not just for kids but for any adult. I enjoy reading this bible so much that I ordered 3 more to give to my grandkids. I recommend it. Very easy to read with illustration, my 8 year old daughter love it
Great book. A really neat way for kids (or adults) to learn the basics of the Bible. I still think learning the KJV is best to really learn the Bible but for just getting an understanding of what happened, this is a great way to go. My father in law loved it and read it in two days.
AWSOME resource!!! This book has been a blessing to our familly. I have a 11 year old daughter and a 10 year old boy, and they are drawn to this book. We established a daily bible study using this book as our guide and the kids love it. I have them go thru the lesson and bible references then we discuss in familly. It has really made a difference.
