I am great at origami and following instructions, but this is not so easy at it claims. They show you what needs to be done in the step before so you lose track of what's a new instruction, and what's an old instruction. The illustrations are very poorly drawn and you don't know which way is the underside of the napkin. Some ideas are only for paper napkins while others are only for cloth ones. The author should have specified which design works with which type of napkin.
I bought this book because I was trying to get ideas for my book, Unique DIY Centerpiece Ideas with Wheat Grass and I knew how important the napkins were to complete a table setting and enhance the centerpiece. I found the directions were very clear and easy to understand. I hope later to try out some of the many ideas for napkin folding when I entertain. There were many napkin folding ideas for animals which might be cute to try with my granddaughter. A table of contents would have made the book better.Unique DIY Centerpiece Ideas with Wheat Grass

With modern printing and stuff, to receive a book like this with black and white photos and paper that feels, well, lower end, was very disappointing. I didn't expect each instruction photo in color, but the finished product certainly should have been.I showed this book to a crafting friend, without telling her my opinion, and she said exactly the same thing, how disappointing it wasn't in color.The ideas are nice, but honestly, I could have looked up any of these styles on the internet. I was hoping for something a little different, and definitely a lot better quality.
My Mom uses these directions to help the craft club fold napkins for the residents at her retirement village. They are thoroughly enjoying this. They are finding the directions clear, and helpfu. And, easy to follow for ALL residents. Thank you!
