A few months ago I was put on a statin drug for high cholesterol. I was already on a drug for diabetes. I am only 48 and thought this is crazy. I went online to look at cookbooks for both diseases and bought this one. I liked it because it was basic. I had to be careful because some things you can have for one ailment you should not have because of the other. I am also a very picky eater. Within one month and without exercise I was able to knock my numbers in half for both ailments and my triglycerides went to the normal range also. I lost 18 lbs. It was not easy but it was worth it. I am now pill free. Yeah! I will use this book regularly to keep me in tune.

Overall good cookbook, so recipes call for small amounts of random ingredients which make grocery shopping more difficult. Also, some recipes could actually have fewer calories and it doesn't give you good substitutions. It's well organized and the food tastes good for most of the recipes I've tried.

My doctor, as many others have probably also heard, wants me to lower my cholesterol. I read through this whole book for information on what constitutes a low cholesterol diet. I think that I can apply the nutritional guidelines and incorporate some of these recipes to my lifestyle.

Great easy to follow recipes

I recomend this cookbook to those who are on a low carb diet and have run out of ideas on how to put variety in your meals. Good food in your life will be the result!
